I'll be honest, I never was a true believer in fighting games. Typically I opposed beating someone in a game because I thought it'd bring them down.

I changed my mind. And my thumb hurts...

I got my shot at playing Street Fighter 4 finally and I found the one character I am good with, and go figure, it's a chick. My friends and I were screwing around looking for something to do most of today. My friend Taylor mentioned Street Fighter 4. I worry when I hear fighting because normally I like to watch fights rather than get in them. I am still slightly edgy when it comes to losing. Losing consecutively gets to me and never having a chance to actually come from behind to win pisses me off.

It's around 9 in the evening when the game gets started. It's just my friends Chris and Taylor and myself. Chris plays Ken, I know this. I knew it for a long time, he's a fucking amazing Ken player. When there was a Marvel vs. Capcom 2 fight, he played Ken exclusively and nearly took out all comers by himself. I saw that fury for myself tonight as well.

It opened up with me trying to find a character I was good with. The first fight was between Taylor and Chris with me as an onlooker, Taylor fell to Ken. The rules were set, using the same special more than twice was spam, corner whoring was outlawed out right. With my turn, I took a shot at using Gen, I fought Taylor who creamed me. Taylor passed the controller to Chris, I picked Chun Li and got destroyed. I was already getting frustrated.

The controller passed from Chris back to me to which I picked Sakura. God damn I love that girl. Taylor picked Fei Long. I answered his Bruce Lee with an uppercut. Ever battle was cvlose, nose to nose till it came down to the final fight. I unloaded with everything I had. The fight was spectacular. I was lunging over his punches and hitting him in the back with a charged Hadoken. He'd grab and throw me across the stage and before he had a chance to recover. I finished with a full charged Uppercut to his jaw sending Fei Long into the heavens to decend a second later cracking the pavement.

That set the tone for the whole night. Every time I came up to bat, I played Sakura and I unloaded with everything I had and then some. I came up with wicked combos, remember everything I'd ever done previous in every game that required quick timing and reflexes. I defeated Chris only once, when he forgot to rearrange his button layout (We couldn't save the damn thing so he had to edit it). It was unfair but after never beating him, I had to go with everything I had. Even after he switched, I took him out. He was also playing Sakura when I one. He never quit using Ken afterword, but I did come close everytime I fought him with Ken afterwords.

We played 180 rounds of street fighter, straight without a break to show for it and I can't wait for another chance to unload on Chris' Ken.
